Pythagorean acusmata
On starting a journey, do not turn back.
Avoid the weasel.
Threaten not the stars.
Dig not fire with a sword.
"Acusmata" is a completely obscure
word for maxims that were
transmitted orally.
Pythagoras, a 6th century B.C. Greek philosopher,
today is best known for sometimes
stumping sixth-grade geometry students.
