Calvin Coolidge, Humorist

One Sunday, President Coolidge went to church alone, leaving his wife Mrs. Coolidge at home.
When he came back, she asked him, "What was the sermon about?"
"Sin," replied the President.
"Well," asked Mrs. Coolidge, "What did the minister say about it?"
"He said he was against it."

(Unfortunately, Coolidge himself said this story was not true.)
